We are encouraging abstracts on eating disorders, bullying, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia and all other mental illnesses.  Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, professionals are welcome to submit abstracts. 

 

The abstract must be prepared as per the guidelines:

 

1) The abstract can be submitted on any subject in the field of mental health

2) Abstracts must present a clear, concise summary of the work and should be 250-300 typed words.

3) Abstracts are to be submitted electronically below.

4) There should be no personal information in the abstract document, text submitted or in the file name of any attachment. No names, addresses, hospital or lab information or any contact information.

5) An individual can submit more than one abstract. (Please complete the abstract submission form again should you wish to submit another abstract) (Note: you will have to close the browser and reopen the website to start on a new submission)

6) The person submitting the abstract or his/her representative must be present at the Mental Health Research Symposium. The Be Your Own Kind Foundation does not assume any transportation related costs to attend this Research Symposium.

7) Those selected to present a poster or make an oral presentation will be contacted by December 22nd, 2013.

 

Poster Presentation: Accepted posters will be in place for the duration of the Symposium.  Poster presenters will be provided with a free-standing 4’ x 6’ poster board. Posters can be affixed to the poster board at the J.W. Scotts Health Sciences Library (upper floor) starting 8am January 16, 2014 and must be on display for 5pm-8pm January 16, 2014 for the Symposium. 


Oral Presentations: Oral presentations will be 20 minutes each followed by a 5 minute question and answer period. Presenters will be notified of the exact time and order of their oral presentation on December 22nd, 2013.

 

Authorization to Publish

Submission of the abstract constitutes permissin for the symposium organizers to publish the abstracts in a printed Book of Abstracts Volume that will be made available at the symposium to attendees as well as online.
